IAI's C60 biodegradable grease is a superior, extreme pressure, extra high temperature, water resistant fully synthetic grease, developed and blended for open lubrication systems. As environmental issue was the key component of the development, many additional techniques and tests were applied to meet requirements of open loop lubrication systems.

Through research in complex techniques and the latest in grease technology, especially in extreme load harsh conditions, a new generation of base grease modifications with the highest quality carbon nanoproducts has been formulated. Methods of applying, blending and modifying components to obtain superior targeted properties were incorporated. The basic product, thickeners and additives have been further advanced with information submitted directly by maintenance personnel about the problems they encountered and the results and goals that they would like to see with new biodegradable grease.

The objective was to have the grease that would reduce costly repairs and downtime and guard against corrosion, oxidization, water washout and leakage. It was also IAI's intent to have this grease operate effectively at high and low temperatures and under extreme pressure conditions thus reducing wear and effectively improving efficiency and controllability of a preventative maintenance program for open loop lubrication systems. As a result  superior IAI's  C60 grease for heavy industrial, railway, marine, mining, agriculture, forestry and auto equipment  meets the objective requirements requested by industries in conjunction with environmental standards. 

The main attention in developing C60 biodegradable grease was concentrated on improving the next properties, described by ASTM parameters:

High temperature bearing life - D3527

EP performance OK load  - D2509

Load wear index – D2596.

Wear Protection Scar Diameter mm max - D2266

These parameters were improved by 20 to 40%.
